Pool
8-ball pool online
- Races to 3–9 racks
- WPA rules, only the 8 called
- 9 ft table, or the 7 ft bar table
Fifteen numbered balls racked in a triangle, the 8 in the middle. One player takes the solids (1–7), the other the stripes (9–15): the first to pocket all of their group and then the 8 wins the rack. Only the 8 is called: tap its pocket before you shoot it. Matches are races: first to win N racks.
It plays straight away in your browser, with nothing to download. To play without a connection too, download and install it as an app, on phone, tablet and computer: free, and without going through an app store.

8-ball rules
Scoring
- 8The 8Once your group is cleared, pocket the 8 in the pocket you called to win the rack
- 1Your group firstThe first ball the cue ball touches must be one of yours (the 8 once they are gone)
- +Keep shootingPocket one of your balls on a legal shot, in any pocket, and you stay at the table
Fouls
After a foul the opponent has ball in hand anywhere on the table. There is no three-foul rule.
- Wrong ball first
- The cue ball touches a ball of the other group first, the 8 before your group is cleared (or on an open table), or no ball at all.
- No cushion
- After the contact no ball is pocketed and none reaches a cushion.
- Scratch
- The cue ball goes into a pocket or off the table.
- Ball off the table
- An object ball jumps off the table: it stays off.
- Losing on the 8
- You lose the rack if the 8 drops on a foul, before your group is cleared, in a pocket you did not call, or if it leaves the table.
The break and the groups
- Breaks alternate. The cue ball is placed behind the head string and may hit any ball first; the break must pocket a ball or drive at least four balls to a cushion. If not, the opponent plays the table as it is or has it racked again, breaking or letting the breaker break again.
- The 8 pocketed on the break does not lose: the breaker has it spotted and keeps shooting, or racks again and breaks. After a foul on that break, the choice is the opponent’s.
- The table is open after the break. The first ball legally pocketed gives you its group (with both groups in on the same shot, the first to drop); the opponent gets the other one.
- Balls of the other group that drop stay down, but only your own keep you at the table.
The official rules
The rules above are the ones Biliardo Plus applies in a match, in short, and they are in the game too, in the Rules window. The full text is the federation’s (in Italian for FIBiS):
