Pool

10-ball pool online

  • Races to 3–9 racks
  • WPA rules (2025)
  • 9 ft table, or the 7 ft bar table

Ten numbered balls racked in a triangle, the 1 on the foot spot and the 10 in the middle. As in 9-ball the cue ball must always hit the lowest ball on the table first, but every shot is called: a ball and a pocket. Only the called ball in the called pocket keeps you at the table. The 10, pocketed as called when it is the last ball, wins the rack. Matches are races: first to win N racks.

It plays straight away in your browser, with nothing to download. To play without a connection too, download and install it as an app, on phone, tablet and computer: free, and without going through an app store.

Scoring

  • 10The 10Pocketed as called when it is the only ball left, it wins the rack; earlier it goes back on the foot spot
  • 1Lowest ball firstThe first ball the cue ball touches must be the lowest-numbered one on the table
  • →Call the shotTap the pocket; the lowest ball is called unless you tap another ball in the row of balls, or double-tap it on the table (a combination). No safety call

Fouls

After a foul the opponent has ball in hand anywhere on the table.

Wrong ball first
The cue ball touches another ball before the lowest one, or no ball at all.
No cushion
After the contact no ball is pocketed and none reaches a cushion.
Scratch
The cue ball goes into a pocket or off the table.
Ball off the table
An object ball jumps off the table: it stays off, except the 10.
Three fouls in a row
Three fouls in a row without a legal shot between them lose the rack (a warning comes after the second).

Calls, the break and the push-out

  • A legal shot that pockets balls but not the called one (another ball, or another pocket) is not a foul: the balls stay down, and the opponent chooses who plays next.
  • Breaks alternate. The cue ball is placed behind the head string and must hit the 1 first; the break must pocket a ball or drive at least four balls to a cushion, or it is a foul. Nothing is called on the break, and any ball it pockets keeps you at the table. There is no three-ball rule.
  • After a break with no foul, the next shot may be declared a push-out: nothing is called, and the cue ball need not hit any ball or cushion. The opponent then chooses who plays.
  • A 10 pocketed at any other time — on the break, a foul, or before it is the last ball — goes back on the foot spot.

The official rules

The rules above are the ones Biliardo Plus applies in a match, in short, and they are in the game too, in the Rules window. The full text is the federation’s (in Italian for FIBiS):
